Wow What a Weekend.....

Wow what a great weekend. Friday night was the start of the cyber crop at tallyscrapper and I had a great time chatting and scrapping the ladies on that site. Tons of fun. The challenges were great. I did get to do all of them but I have them written down to try later. Here are a few of the layouts I created. On Saturday I had a photo shoot. A while back I told you my brother started a modeling agency and I am the stylist and photographer. Well, we had a photo session with our first model. I was nervous because I really haven't photographed anyone outside of friends and family but I am happy with how most of the pics turned out. I took a lot just in case there were issues but as we were reviewing them last night it is going to be tough deciding. I will share more once i get them edited. Oh and if you have any opinions please let me know I am still learning.

Hooray for Thursday.....

Well been missing my niece lately and I found this pic of her when I was looking through my pile of pics to scrap. This is an old pic but one of my favorites of her. I decided to try out the bubble wrap stamping technique on this layout, I really like it. Will definitely try that one again. This week has seem to be so long. I am happy it is Thursday that mean tomorrow is Friday and then the weekend. I have a photo shoot with one of Kevin's models on Saturday morning and then it is off to Pearl's to get some paint, canvases and supplies to start my experiment with painting. Will show you what comes of it.
This weekend tallyscrapper is having a cyber crop. The challenges are already up and there will be some fantastic prizes. So head over there and check it out. I am going to start printing my pics tonight so I can have them at my finger tips when I am ready to scrap.

Today I am feeling some what better about how things have gone over the last week. So I created this LO with the words of my dear Mother. " What doesn't Kill you, only makes you stronger." Just saying them helps me calm down and put things back into prospective. And had to make it in my favorite colors Yellow and Orange. Those colors are just so bright and cheerful and nothing puts a smile on my face faster. I also wanted to thank everyone who sent well wishes and prayers for me and my family during this time. Took the kids to the park on Sunday because I felt bad that the were cloaked up in the house all day on Saturday. The guest bathroom toilet overflowed and Ezzy and I spend most of the day cleaning up and installing a new toilet. The old one was just no good anymore. So on Sunday I got up and went to the Grocery store and when I got back picked out something for Niah to wear. Well, Miss Thing did not want to wear what I picked out so she picked this outfit out instead. Very fashionable that one is. I only hope that she will continue to dance to the beat of her own music. I just love that about her. And here is Mr. Serious. There weren't a lot of boys his age at the park on Sunday so he was not in the mood to be there. Spent most of his time chilling with Mom until he found someone to play with. We went to Cold Stone's for ice cream after.
I will leave you with a layout I did for the Survivor Challenge over at tallyscrapper. Now that I think about it, I did the challenge wrong. The theme was something you are thankful for using buttons, ribbon/trim, and exposed cardboard. Why did I think it said cardstock. I think the accident shook up my brain a little to much. Oh well it is done and uploaded to the gallery and there is nothing I can do now. Next time I will read the challenge several times before I create the LO. The sad thing about it is The LO at the top is the first LO I did for the challenge and realize the theme was thankful. Silly me.

My Grandfather Died Yesterday....

My grandfather (dad's father who lived in Jamaica) died yesterday after a 2 week battle with an infectious decease called leptospirous. Caught early this decease is curable but on his first visit to the Doctor 2 weeks ago he was told he had the flu and was sent home. After a week of antibiotics and with his symptoms getting worse he was taken to another doctor where he was diagnosed with leptospirous and rushed to the hospital. By the time he got to the hospital he was already in stage two and the decease had already shut down his liver and attach other organs. He lost his fight yesterday after a week in the hospital. It all happened so fast so I don't think it has really set in. They have already released the body to our family and I am awaiting the funeral date from my dad. I ask for your prayers for my family during this time.
Update on my accident - a lot of the pain has passed. Just some pain between my shoulder blades and in my lower back. I think I will have to visit the Chiropractor (sp?).
Here are some of my favorite Halloween Pics of the kids. Here is Dorthy from the Wizard of OZ sorting through here candy. She ended up being Dorthy because the school said the smaller kids could only wear costumes that related to the farm or harvest. Dorthy lived on a farm. It's the best I could do.
Here is my air force pilot. They didn't have the camouflage army costume so he picked the pilots. Do you see a pattern here. Camouflage room, bed and clothes. Future military man? I hope not.

Halloween Pics...

OK well it looks like my pics are to big to be posted. Here are the gifts I made for the kids teachers. I will have to resize the others and post later. In the news - I was in a car accident on Monday after leaving work. My cute little Scion XB was rare-ended by a Dorango which pushed me into an Accord. My car is now in the shop. Still waiting for an estimate on the damage. I have no broken bones just a lot of pain. Muscle Relaxers are my friends right now. I hope to be back in action soon. I have not scrapped since Sunday and boy am I feeling it. Well later.

What weekend ......

Been feeling run down this weekend. I think I better pop some vitamins. Spent most of my Saturday in the hair salon and then Tasha and I spent the rest of the day at the new IKEA store. I must say I am in love. You have to pack a lunch to go there but it is everything I thought it would be and now that I know the ins and outs it will be a lot easier the next time we go. We did Sushi after that and I called it a night. Sunday was spent doing work, helping with homework, grocery shopping and even managed to stop by a stamping store close by to get some cardstock. It was a long day and I was very happy to finally see the kids sleeping. Look how peaceful they look. Every night I going into there room to make sure they are fixed comfortably and kiss them on the head. Thought I would take a picture of what I see each night.
This is why I love my husband. We ate well. Our Sunday dinner was stuffed shells and veggie and beef casserole. I am still stuffed.

Silly is as Silly Does....

Yes we can still be silly after being together for 8 1/2 yrs. and married for 5 1/2 yrs. I really had so much fun hanging out with my hubby this past weekend. We had one of our weekend getaways that I just love so much. We did Tampa this time. The second time this year but we just can't get enough of the Busch Garden rides and the Hal-o-Scream was good too. Ezzy had a field day laughing at me being scared out of my mind. This picture was taken after driving for 3 hours non-stop. Now, I know for some people that is nothing but for me it is a lot and I only really endure it because the end result is worth it. I love this shot in the mirror. This is right before we headed back out to the park for the Hal-o-Scream. Can you see that devious smile on Ezzy's face. He had it all planned in his head how he was going to help those Busch Garden park employees scare the sh!t out of me.

OK and now a little something in the spirit of Halloween. I brought home some Halloween cookies couple of nights ago for the kiddies. We will be going to get costumes this weekend. Well really just a costume for Niah because Nayshawn said he didn't want a costume this year. Maybe I will try to find him a orange shirt or something.

What can $117 get you????

Tons of clothes for the kids from Children's Place. Well, Ezzy and I went to Tampa over the weekend to the Busch Gardens Hol-o-Scream ( We had so much fun) and on the way back we stopped at the Outlet Mall in Miromar, FL . We really only stopped because we promised the kids we would bring them something back. So on our way to the Toy Store Ezzy noticed a sign in the Children's Place window that said $2.99. We went in and the rest is history. We saved about as much as we spent. I am never lucky like this, So it must have been Ezzy. On another note. Niah and I had craft day two Sunday's ago. We made a rabbit. We got the directions from a book she brought home. I am very proud of her reading and and doing each step until she got to the last step.

Trying To Feel Good Today.....

Been doing a lot of scrapping lately. There are times when people will ask why I scrap. Right now I am scrapping to feel good. Been having a rough week but when I sit down at my scrap desk I get lost in creation. I love the feeling that I get when I create a Layout. It is feels like instant gratification. I trying to come up with new techniques and designs. Lately I have been thinking about doing some canvases and getting some opinions on them. Ezzy says he would love me to do one for his office. We will see. I will keep you updated on that. Anyway here are some Layouts I have done lately.

Some really awesome B-day gifts...

Well just wanted to show off some of my favorite birthday gifts. The flowers and purse are from my Aunts. They know me too well. The rabbit is from my kiddos. How sweet is that?
On another note. I have a really good weekend. Went out with the girls for my friends birthday. Had tons of fun. Had a photo shoot with a friend on Saturday. I did pretty good. Then relaxed for the rest of the weekend. I have been going so fast that I didn't realize how tired I really was. But I am fully recharged and ready for the week ahead of me.

More Party Pictures....

I got my mom's camera last night and uploaded the pics she took of the party. We sure did have a good time.
Think I am going to scrap this weekend and maybe take the kids to the beach or park. We will see.
One last thing..... I was tagged by Nessa
Here are 7 random things about me....
1. I was once a beauty queen.
2. I love the colors orange & yellow.
3. I love to decorate although I am not very good at it.
4. I love going to the park with the kids every chance I get.
5. I watch Grey's Anatomy every Thursday.
6. When I first met my husband I was very skeptic as to why he wanted to date me. It took me a long while to lighten up to him.
7. My family calls my scrappy because I love to scrap so much.
Now you know just a little bit more about me.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Feeling Good Today.....

Wow I am feeling so good today. Just really happy to be alive and well (or some what well). The kids are great, hubby is great and so sweet. Just really loving life right now.

We are planning a trip to Busch Garden's Hal-o-Scream next weekend. I love doing fun stuff like that with Ezzy. This time we are inviting my brother his girlfriend and a couple of our friend. Can't wait.

Well I have so serious scrapping to do. I just realized the other day just how much scrap supplies I have and I really have to use as much of them up to make room for more. I think I might do a RAK here to give some of them away.

I am suppose to have a photo shoot with a friend of mine this weekend. So cool. I really want to do this photography thing. Who knows maybe I can quite my day job. Tasha is working on a home show for me and her cousin to display our work and see if we can get some business. I have to get started on that really soon.

Well that is if for now. Talk to you later.

I really do. He gave me a wonderful party that I will never forget. My little man. Kevin and his girlfriend. Go DJ. Niah rocking the baby phat. Tasha being the suffisticated 30 yr. Ladies in Black.

Sucker.....

OK so Niah suckered me into paying 6 bucks to get her face painted by some clown in the mall on Saturday. I must admit she does look very cute. She is such a girlie girl for sure. Well, just counting down until my Birthday. I am so excited about my party on Saturday. I have got everything in order. Even looked up how to make a Chocolate Martini. Today was a good day got home, made dinner, got the kids to do homework, and got them showered and into bed all before nine. Love those easy days. Well, I should really try to get some sleep. It is now 12:51 am and I am on the computer while Ezzy is asleep beside me.

October Already???

Let me start with a Layout I did for the Bad Girl Top Designer Week 3 Challenge. I did not make it to week 4 but was glad for the challenges. Wow, I can't believe it. It is already October. My Birthday is around the corner and I can't wait. And Ezzy and I decided to have another party. We had so much fun last year that we just had to do it again. I will have pic for you next week I am sure. The weekend after that we should be headed to Busch Gardens for HollowSream. It is always very amusing to get the shit scared out of me. If anything Ezzy enjoys it. We always have a good time. On Saturday night we celebrated the birthday of a friend of mine. We went out the an Greek restaurant Opa. Very interesting. Didn't care for the food but the atmosphere was great. Belly dancers and people dancing on the tables. I even got up there for a little bit. Fun stuff.

Bad Blogger ... Spank on the Hand

Ok I really am neglecting my blog. I don't mean to but it just seems like this month has been so crazy. It has just been one thing or the other. Then I was sick last week. But I feel like things are finally getting back on track. The kids are in their routines again and I am comfortable with how my days are going. I have opted not to do the dance class this year because Nay is having trouble in school and I want to focus on learning activities for them this year. They will start Saturday Tutoring in October. However, Niah might do ice skating if I can ever get my but up and visit the ice arena. After watching Ice Princess she has been begging. I have been blog surfing lately and my friend Christine visited this cool website that generates a map like the one below that shows how much of the country you have visited. I have only visited 11% of the country so far. Just 6 states. I have been discussing this with Ezzy a lot in the last couple of months. I want to see more of the country. On my list North Carolina, Oregon, and Washington. Just always wanted to visit these areas. Hopefully I can get that percentage up in a couple of years.
create your own personalized map of the USA or check out ourCalifornia travel guide Well that is it for now. I will try to make more frequent entries, I promise.

My Feet Are Off The Ground....

Good morning. I walked into work this morning and just started working. Not happy about being here and not happy with a lot that is going on in the work place lately. I sat here typing away trying to think about how to elimate the stress in my life when a co-worker sent me the below email. Normally when i open an email that is long I delete it and keep going. I really hate reading long winded emails that end with no meaning or point to them. But the title of the email grabbed me and I decided to read it. It really help to put thing into a new light. I have posted it below. I hope it will help you bring some light to what you feel is stress in your life.
"My Feet Are Off The Ground"
From Tyler Perry:
writer and actor
This morning I awoke and was so frustrated about all of the stuff that I'm dealing with in trying to get this studio open. I was about to open my mouth and start complaining when I remembered something that happened to me about a year ago. I was walking to my car when this woman who appeared to be homeless started walking towards me. I'm ashamed to say this but I thought, "I don't feel like being hustled today." Then I got quickly convicted. I felt guilty so I started digging in my pocket for some money. As she got closer I noticed that she had the kindest eyes that I had ever seen. As I was reaching into my pocket she started to speak. I thought, "Here goes the sales pitch." She said "Excuse me sir, I need some shoes. Can you help me?" My eyes filled with water because I remember being out on the streets and having only one pair of run over shoes. I was taken aback for a second. I took her inside the studio and had my wardrobe people find shoes in her size. As she put the shoes on she started crying, praising God and thanking Jesus, and saying, "My feet are off the ground! My feet are off the ground!" Several of the wardrobe people started crying. I was crying. But I never forgot those words. "My feet are off the ground!" I thought, "Wow! All she wanted was some shoes." She quickly disappeared and never asked me for a dime. I realized that I still had the money in my hand so I went out looking for her. She was gone just that quick so I looked all around the neighborhood for her. I found her standing on a corner looking down at her shoes, still crying. I was so touched. I asked her how she had gotten homeless. She told me that she had AIDS and that she was waiting to get into a shelter. She said that her family had turned their backs on her and that she had no place to go, but she knew that God would make a way for her. I said to myself, "He just did." Her faith and her praise moved me. I took her to a nearby hotel and put her up until she was able to get on her feet. I had someone that worked for me to check on her from time to time and to make sure that she had food and clothes. After about a month or so we lost touch, but I never forgot her. This past summer I was shooting "Daddy's Little Girls" and this woman walks up to me smiling. I didn't recognize her face, but her eyes were familiar. She had on a really nice dress and her hair was done. It was her! She told me that the little help that I had given her had changed her life. She was in a house now and doing very well. I said all of that to say this. After I met this woman, every time I think about complaining and mumbling I remember, "My feet are off the ground!"I wanted to share this with you just to let you know that when I say that I am thankful for you, I mean it. And when I say that you are a blessing to me, I mean it. We take so much for granted sometimes that I just wanted all of you to know that I am grateful to God for you everyday. Thank you for being in my life.
