Boy weekends go fast.

Well, it took a while but I finally have a scrap desk. I am still working on the entire area but I am truely happy to have a desk. I will post pic of the entire area by the end of the week. I was able to unpack dishes I had packed away for the last three years. My grandmother gave me this China Cabinet and I sanded it and painted it Antique white. It sits in my kitchen against a bare wall. The dishes at the top are wedding gifts and the ones at the bottom where given to me by my mother -in-law. This is part of my work in progress kitchen. We replaced our back door today. What a task that was. Sad thing about it is when everything was done we realized it was hung the wrong way. We will have to remove it and turn it around tomorrow. Oh well that is how the story goes.

Ant Fascination

My baby boy has a strange fascination with Ants. Every chance he gets he is checking them out. I don't understand it but I enjoy watching him explore what he thinks are very fascinating creatures. Decided I would do a quick fun Layout about it. I have been so busy getting my Frances Meyer DT projects together, (They have some exciting things planned for Memory Trends so look out for them) that this was a great break.

Dance class starts again...

Well Saturday dance class started for the kids. Nayshawn is doing Hip Hop and Pop-n-Lock. Niah is doing Tap and Ballet. I really enjoy watching them in their classes but it does take about 3 hours out of my day. So to pass some of the time I did a mini photo shoot with each child outside of the school. Here are some of my favorate pics from that.

What's making me happy these days.

In no particular order. 1. Justin Timberlake - that boy is off the chain. I am loving the new album. 2. Pier 1 Imports - if I could furnish and decorate my entire house from this store I would. 3. School - Niah, Nayshawn and Myself are all doing great in school. 4. Work - I just got a new position and I am so excited about that. 5. Camera - I am loving my new camera. I am learning how to capture my special moment in new exciting ways. 6. My Car - My Scion XB, I am loving my new car. $28 fills the tank and it lasts me a week. Also it is so roomy enough that I don't miss my SUV. 7. Ezzy - He is so good to me. I love him so much. (I don't think I say that as often as I should). 8. Colors - Loving the impact colors are having on the way I am feeling lately. I am slowly transforming my house (color wise) into a very happy place to be. I am Loving Yellows, Reds, Greens and Oranges. 9. Pedicures - Need to get them more often. 10. Hugs - Hugs from the Kids and especially from Ezzy. Did I mention that I love this man? LOL

How do you know when someone loves you?

When they are happy to do things with you that they normally hate to do. I love this man. He absolutely hates shopping but he went willing with me this weekend and smiled as I shopped the day away. It didn't hurt that he got something for himself too. LOL

Happy Days

Here are some LO's I did as an entry to a friends circle journal. I actually like how they turned out. I will have to try something like this again for myself. This weekend Ezzy and I will be going back up to Orlando to visit Downtown Disney. Ezzy has been before but this will be my first time. I am really pumped about that. This will be a sort of pre-birthday celebration trip. We would have waited and gone in October if I didn't get a deal on the hotel for the month of September. I am so loving this rug. I think I will make this purchase for the transformation of my formal living room to a library/scrap area. I seems to be durable enough to handle the kids but nice enough to bring up the room. I just love Peir 1 imports. I also bought some of these poppies at Peir 1 to put in that area.

What is making me happy today.

How sweet is this? I caught this picture of Nayshawn and Niah yesturday morning. (In our bed of course.) It always warms my heart when I see them interact in this way. I am so glad they have each other.

Another Friday

And I am stuck doing homework. I really can't wait for this class to be over. What do I need statistics for anyways? I don't think I will be calculating the probability of anything any time soon. Anyways, Here is a Lo I did of my cousin Suzie (sorry for the bad scan). I love her so much. We grew up like sisters. She says I was a little brat and I say she never liked me. In the end it is hard to believe we have such a wonderful relationship. Love you Suzie ((hugs)).

DT Layouts

Thought I would take a break from homework to share with you my September DT projects. If you haven't checked out http://amillionmemories.com monthly kits you really should. This month it was all about Melissa Frances. Man, these pps are just yummy. I had so much fun creating with them. I loved the warm feel of them. Well, back to work.

My KI Memories Entry

I didn't win the KI Memories contest but I love the beautiful album I have created. This has been an accomplishment for me since this my first offical themed 8X8 album. My theme was "My Guide to a Happy Life."

Good weekend.

Hubby and I went out on Saturday night. We had so much fun. We don't get to go out very often so we make sure we have a good time when we do. Before we picked up the kids on Sunday we had lunch at Olive Garden(good stuff). I think it is very important for couples with children to have together time. We tend to get caught up in the everyday things and sometimes we forget that spending time together is important in maintaining a health relationship. ((hugs)) Shawna

Ernesto turned out to be a big baby....

Well by the time Ernesto came across Florida he ended up being nothing more than a Tropical Depression. Man all that build-up for nothing. I am glad though. Going through a huricane is nothing nice. It is off to school for the kids tomorrow. And for me off to work. Although I have been working from home today.

Tropical Storm Ernesto is coming....

Well we are all batted down and ready for Ernesto. He is suppose to come with winds of up to 75 miles an hour. Nothing much is going on now, just waiting. Kids are happy to be off from school today and I think I will have a nice drink of wine (in honor of Ernesto) and do some scrapping. I have been working on my DT assignment for A Million Memories that are due this week so this will be a good time to get them out of the way.

School Days...

I am sitting here in class thinking about being at home. I have no clue what this teacher is talking about. What am I going to eat for dinner. Ok, that was my break. I will go back to not having a clue.

Why am going back to school again?

Oh yeah, to get my Masters. So that I can get a better job that pays more money. Man this statistics class is kicking my butt. I just have to keep reminding myself why I am doing it. Notice something different about this picture. Ok I will tell you. I dyed my hair black again. I really like the change. I haven't had black hair since high school. I am happy with it though and I have gotten quite a few compliments.

Wasp Sting?

Well we were out in the yard last week when I heard a scream and turned to see Nayshawn running around like a mad man. After much comforting and interigation I realized that a wasp had grazed him with it's stinger. Thank goodness he didn't get a real sting. I don't know if I would have been able to handle that.

Princess Niah !!!

Ok, so for those of you who don't know. My daughter is the girliest girly girl ever created. She loves all things pretty. I have to admit I really can' t blame her. It is so fun to do your hair up all pretty, put some make-up on, and dress up in your prettiest outfit and model. Some may say it is vain but I think it is important to have the confidence of knowing you look good. I know it makes me feel good to know I look good and I suppose it is the same feeling for her.

So here is a girly layout in honor of my Sweet Princess. I am especially proud of this one. I used no patterned paper. I drew the circles myself.

Beach Day....

We went to the beach today. It was such a perfect day. The water was nice and cool not freezing like it normally is. It wasn't that hot and I got to use my beach chairs that Ezzy bought for me. (Very comfy). The kids had fun as usual. I figured it would be great to get out there since it is off to school in the morning. I love living in Florida. Enjoy the pics.

Layouts...

Well ,this week was a blur. It just came and went so fast. Nayshawn goes back to school on Monday. He is ready to go back which makes me happy. That makes it a lot easier come Monday morning. I have a first grader. Wow. Where did the time go? I was just dropping him off at preschool. Now he is a little man. Niah starts pre-K on Monday as well. My babies are growing up. Wait a minute that mean I am getting older too. Shoot. Thought I would stay 25 forever. Oh well I guess time waits for no one. I am trying to draw out my artistic side with this layout. I f figured I am talking about Nayshawn's Unique style and so the layout should be as unique as he is. I really love it. This is layout I did for Dawne over at A Million Memories. We did a photo swap. I really like this picture of her daughter. Have a great weekend!!!

Kevin's Shirt ....

The other night Kevin (my brother) came to my house and I just loved the shirt he had on. It read: I live in my own little world cause they like me there. Love it. I think that will be my new motto.

I sent in my KI Memories entry.....

Man, I am so releaved. I sent in my entry to the KI Memories Celebrate life contest today. I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I had so much fun doing it. It was my first offical themed book that is completely finished. Well not exactly, I left space to add pages if I felt. And besides the Scrapbook.com $20K contest, this contest will be one of my first big contests. I really feel a sense of accomplishment to know I have sent my things in. Even if I don't win I have gained a new album that can be shared with my family and friends. Now to finish all the things I put on hold while I was creating it. I received my 52 Challenges book by Elsie Flannigan. Boy that girl is talented. I have been in the book since I got it. Maybe another reason I am behind in my scrapping. I am going to have fun with this book. I can't wait to get started on some of these challenges. ((hugs)) Shawna

Short weekend as usual...

So my Saturday morning was spent running around trying to get Nayshawn his school supplies so he can ready for school on the 14th. I am so glad that is out of the way. Target was like a mad house and Kids Foot Locker was no better. But I am happy to say I am finished shopping. A friend of mine had a baby shower on Saturday afternoon. So I made this picture frame for her. I really like how it turned out. I took this picture of Niah before we left the house and I think this has become my new all time favorate picture of her. I know I might sound bias but I don't care. That child is just too darn cute. This picture I took of Nayshawn at the shower. Not sure why it turned out this way but for some reason I like it. I think it capture who he is. Fun! fun! fun!
