Christmas Eve in Florida..

On Christmas Eve our little family ventured out to the Park. It was a beautiful day. The sun wasn't to hot and there was actually a very nice breeze. I love going to the park with the kids. They always have so much fun. I always get to be the bad guy that they chase around and try to catch. Ezzy normally just sits on the side and enjoys the show. I just love these family days.

Sunday - Olive Garden, the Park, delivered gifts to family and friends and ended the day at Tasha's house making chocolate coverd, strawberries and pretzels and making cookies for santa.

Christmas gifts.

We bought jewelry for the kids for Christmas. Niah got a bangle and a necklace and Nayshawn got a necklace. I got these snack tins from Target for a dollar a while back and decided to decorate them and put the jewelry in them. I figure they can use them after to put small toys in.

Also, I am offically done with my shopping. I think the kids will be happy with what they get.

My mom is leaving for Jamaica this after noon and I am a little sad about that because I am so use to her being around.

What a Day...

What a Day. I think the earlier part of the day went well. I went and got my teeth cleaned, then got the oil in my car changed. Good so far. Stopped at Target to do some Christmas shopping for all the little kids on my list. Still pretty good. Got home relaxed a little before I had to get ready to pick the kids up from after school care. Well, after picking them up and getting to my mother-law's house. No answer at the door. Waited for about twenty minutes. Well, NO school for me today. She never came to the door. That really sucked good thing I had no important assignments to turn in. Get home to the load of darks the I left in the dryer out to realize that one of the kids left red and green crayons in their pocket and messed up the entire load. That really sucked because that was the load with all the jeans and Nay's school uniform. Then sat down to watch the Colt vs. Bangles game and the phone rings. My mom got into a car accident. She is OK, the car can be driven but the front is pretty banged up. Now the was the suckiness that rounded out the night. I am just getting home after following her home. I am tired. Will talk to you later.

Short weekend...

Well, my toilet is fixed and the bathroom is back to normal. Well as normal as it can be with two kids. Now about those weekends. Why are they so short? I feel like as soon as they start they are done. I know a lot of it has to do with the fact that I pack them full of things that I have to do before Monday morning. And with the holidays upon us it's even worse. I spend most of my time searching for gifts. Now don't get me wrong I love shopping but only when there is time to do it and right now there just doesn't seem to be any time for it. Went shopping for Nayshawn's gift on Saturday but I had to take him with me. I bought him an iPod Video. I had to tell him I was buying it for Uncle Gavin. Man was he pissed. He just couldn't understand why I would be spending my money on any one but him and Niah. I can't wait to see the look on his face when he opens it on Christmas morning. I will have the camera ready. I attended my company holiday party on Saturday night and man they went all out. The theme was the Middle East and they did a great job conveying that theme. They had Futune Tellers and belly dancers. I will post pictures of Ezzy and I later. We spent Sunday with Tasha. Ezzy cooked dinner and Tasha and I were able to catch up on what's going on in each other's lives. And now it is Monday and I am back at work and I have school tonight. There is just no rest for the weary.

Kids

Kids are something else. That's really all I can say. I have to laugh now to keep from crying. I started this new position at work and I have been putting in some serious hours. So needless to say, I am tired, cranky and irritable. Well, tonight I filled up the footbath, broke out my laptop and sat down to deal with some work. Two minutes later Niah come running out of the bathroom to tell me the toilet water is coming up out of the bowl. Why? Why I ask? How much toilet paper does she need to wipe that tiny little butt? Of course, I am not very good at things like that and Ezzy is working late. I am not shamed to say I don't know how to work the plunger so the bathroom is still a mess and I am sitting here on the coach waiting for Ezzy to come home and save the day.

New Layouts

I know I have been MIA for a while. I have just been so busy with this new position at work, school and family that I just haven't had a chance to update my blog. I decided to upload some layouts I did a few weeks back for a Design Team contest. I didn't make it but I love how these Layouts turned out. I haven't been able to scrap in a couple of weeks now. The only thing I did was a birthday card for my mother-in-law. I think I am having some serious scrap withdrawal. My class ends tonight, so to celebrate I am going to be scrapping tonight. I can't wait, I have gotten so many new stuff that I would like to get into.
Anyway, bye for now.

Dear Santa

Since Thanksgiving is done and boy am I stuffed, Niah decided that it was time to tell Santa what she wants for Christmas. She wrote her list by herself with spelling help from me of course. I don't think it is too bad. Got to get started. I wanted to go out yesturday but the thought of dealing with all those people turned me off. Going to decorate my house for the holidays today. I have to start on Christmas because as soon as you know it the holidays are all over.

Happy Day...

I had a wonderful day yesturday. We celebrated my mom's 50th birthday with a small family dinner. It was great. My mom had a good time and that is all that matters. Special thanks to Ezzy for cooking such a wonderful meal. I think I married the best man in the world.

Wow Look what I got...

Look at all this stuff I got from Joann.com. All for just $26. I know that it is a lot of old KI stuff. I just couldn't pass it up. Can't wait to play with it. Nayshawn got a new hair cut. Ezzy allowed him to get a zig zag part. How cute it that.

Being a Working Mom...

It sure is tough being a working mother of two small kids, plus student going back to school to get an MBA. I have a lot of guilt. Which I know I shouldn't but I just can't help to feel bad that I am not there for my kids as much I would like to. Today I had a parent teacher conference for Nayshawn. He is doing good. He needs some help with his reading and spelling but overall he is doing great. His teachers where very nice, they gave me some great suggestions on how to improve his reading. But although they ensured me that I just have to work with him and they understand that I am a working mother and it is hard sometimes to get everything done, I still feel a little guilty about the fact that I really don't have a lot of time to work with him on his reading. I have a total of 2 1/2 hours in the evening to get home, make dinner, do homework, and get ready for the next day before the kids have to be in bed. And then on the weekend I feel so bad about the week days that I spend as much time as possible doing everything else with them. Not to mention how tired I am from the work week. I guess I will have to work on this and I guess as they get older I won't feel so bad. Well just had to get that off my chest.

Trying my hand at photography

I have been trying my hand at taking some professional looking pictures. I think I did a pretty good job. For Chirstmas I am going to treat myself to a Canon Rebel XT. Man, I can't wait. Niah looks so grown up in these pictures. It makes me kind of sad. She is suppose to stay my baby forever and now she is so independent. Doing things on her own. I guess I didn't feel it as much with Nayshawn because when he started to be independent I still had her. But now with her becoming more and more independent what do I do? How do I handle this? My babies aren't babies anymore.

Just had to share this LO with everyone. I love this picture of Nay and Niah that I took one day at my mom's house. For some reason they are always hiding out under her bed. So being the camera happy mom I am, I just had to capture the moment. Love this LO. I was trying to combine different pattern papers. Got to get rid of some of these older papers so I can make some room for the new papers I want to buy.

Well, off to get ready for bed. I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow.

Halloween..

It was good. No trick-or-treaters but the kids loved their costumes. We tried to go to the family festival they were having at the stadium but to was to crowded so we went to McDonald's instead. The kids enjoyed having junk food in the middle of the week. That is a treat for them.

Fall Leaves.....

Where is the time going? I feel like I was just giving Ezzy his Valentine's Day gift and now I am already thinking about Thanksgiving and what to buy people for Christmas. Today we are experiencing a small cold front, which is nothing here in Florida (70-75 degrees). While I was dropping Nayshawn off at school this morning he asked me why it was cold today. I told him we are experiencing a cold front. So he asked if it was winter. I said no not yet. It's fall now. Well that sent him on a mission to find colored leaves. My poor baby. He doesn't understand that we don't expereince the changing colors of fall here. No falling leaves. It was cute though. Maybe I should ask Aunty Kelly to send us some fall leaves for Nayshawn to have. Maybe we can even do a scrap page with them. Just a thought.

I guess I lied...

I said I was going to take it easy but I totally forgot about my uncle's Birthday Party last night. So instead of relaxing a scrapping last night. The kids, Ezzy and I were off to Uncle Richard's birthday party. I had a great time. So did Ezzy and the kids. Here are some pictures from last night.
