Pictures from Christmas....

Well, our Christmas was nice. The kids enjoyed it and that is all that really matters. My Christmases are for the kids now anyway. Nayshawn loved his Nintendo DS and Niah loved her Portable DVD player. I got a Making Memories Carousel and Paint brushes from Ezzy a ring from Nayshawn and a porcelain egg from Niah. I bought myself a backdrop, a studio light and a 85mm lens. So all in all I had a wonderful Christmas and I am looking forward to a great new year.

Merry Christmas

Christmas Graphics Merry Christmas everyone. We are getting ready for Santa. Kids are almost in bed. Most of the gift have been wrapped and we have been tracking Santa on NORAD. He is currently in Peru and working is way up to North America. We have made his cookies and put them by the tree with his milk. All we really have to do now is wait. I will be back soon with pictures of Christmas Day.

Feeling More like Christmas...

OK, I am starting to feel it now. I did some shopping today. Can't say what I got for far that my family is reading my blog.
I am especially happy to purchase Nayshawn's gift. He has been doing so much better in school lately. I even got a call from his teacher yesterday to say he has been behaving himself and doing his work. He has been getting A's and B's. How beautiful is that. So needless to say I am going to run to the store to pick up the Nintendo DS he requested. I love times like these. Niah on the other hand wants a fridge for her room as her Christmas gift. What is wrong with that lazy little girl? She won't be getting that, for those of you who thought I was even considering it.
For now I leave you with some pictures of the ornaments from my tree. The are simple but beautiful and mean so much to me because they are to same ornaments I use to decorate my mother's tree when I was growing up.

Feeling like Christmas.....Maybe

There are a lot of little thing going on around the house that makes it feel like Christmas time. Living in Florida makes it so hard sometimes to get into the holidays. Other states see the change in seasons and right now they are experiencing snow and cold weather. What do we have 80 degree weather and no sign of the cold. So I have to create the feel some how. Not just for me but for the kids. I bought these two little trees from Target for the kids to put in there rooms.

And our stocking are hung by the Chimney with care. In hopes the St Nick will bring some goodies.

And you know I just couldn't wait any longer to break out the boots. Even though today was 78 degrees....it's December. All the Floridians should be able to understand.

Art

I am so excited to show you what the kids and I have been up to. Well, a couple of weeks ago I went to the store and bought some canvases and paint to do a paint night for me and the kids. I think it was a success.....check out what we created.
I didn't know my little family had so much talent. They are all hung very nicely on the walls of our rooms. They are so proud of their work. I think they have soon these painting to everyone who has walked through my door. Which makes me happy because it is important to have some creativity in your life.

OK, my tree is up and finally decorated. I decided on Red, Gold and iridescent bulbs and Red beads. I think it turned out rather nice. My mom decided that she is not putting up a tree this year so she told me to come get her decorations and she had these beautiful iridescent bulbs. That is what started the color scheme. I originally wanted to do the pile everything on but the artist in me just couldn't do it. I love how it turned out and the kids do to. Ezzy laughed at me the entire time. I'm sure he thought I sounded like Hitler with my demanding directions to the kids. But they really didn't seem to mind. I have to get a shirt for the bottom of the tree. The one I had ( threw it away) did it's time and now it is time for a new one. Now I just have to work on the other areas of the house and the outside. Niah and Nayshawn say they want little trees in their room. I might just give it to them. How fun would that be. We will see.

OK The Tree is up

Now all I have to do is decorate it. I have no idea what theme or color scheme I want. I think I will probably just go for the fully loaded with every ornament I have theme. LOL. That way I don't have to watch what the kids are putting on it. Well, time to go look and see what online sales I can find. Have a wonderful Monday.

Wow What a Weekend.....

Wow what a great weekend. Friday night was the start of the cyber crop at tallyscrapper and I had a great time chatting and scrapping the ladies on that site. Tons of fun. The challenges were great. I did get to do all of them but I have them written down to try later. Here are a few of the layouts I created. On Saturday I had a photo shoot. A while back I told you my brother started a modeling agency and I am the stylist and photographer. Well, we had a photo session with our first model. I was nervous because I really haven't photographed anyone outside of friends and family but I am happy with how most of the pics turned out. I took a lot just in case there were issues but as we were reviewing them last night it is going to be tough deciding. I will share more once i get them edited. Oh and if you have any opinions please let me know I am still learning.

Hooray for Thursday.....

Well been missing my niece lately and I found this pic of her when I was looking through my pile of pics to scrap. This is an old pic but one of my favorites of her. I decided to try out the bubble wrap stamping technique on this layout, I really like it. Will definitely try that one again. This week has seem to be so long. I am happy it is Thursday that mean tomorrow is Friday and then the weekend. I have a photo shoot with one of Kevin's models on Saturday morning and then it is off to Pearl's to get some paint, canvases and supplies to start my experiment with painting. Will show you what comes of it.
This weekend tallyscrapper is having a cyber crop. The challenges are already up and there will be some fantastic prizes. So head over there and check it out. I am going to start printing my pics tonight so I can have them at my finger tips when I am ready to scrap.

Today I am feeling some what better about how things have gone over the last week. So I created this LO with the words of my dear Mother. " What doesn't Kill you, only makes you stronger." Just saying them helps me calm down and put things back into prospective. And had to make it in my favorite colors Yellow and Orange. Those colors are just so bright and cheerful and nothing puts a smile on my face faster. I also wanted to thank everyone who sent well wishes and prayers for me and my family during this time. Took the kids to the park on Sunday because I felt bad that the were cloaked up in the house all day on Saturday. The guest bathroom toilet overflowed and Ezzy and I spend most of the day cleaning up and installing a new toilet. The old one was just no good anymore. So on Sunday I got up and went to the Grocery store and when I got back picked out something for Niah to wear. Well, Miss Thing did not want to wear what I picked out so she picked this outfit out instead. Very fashionable that one is. I only hope that she will continue to dance to the beat of her own music. I just love that about her. And here is Mr. Serious. There weren't a lot of boys his age at the park on Sunday so he was not in the mood to be there. Spent most of his time chilling with Mom until he found someone to play with. We went to Cold Stone's for ice cream after.
I will leave you with a layout I did for the Survivor Challenge over at tallyscrapper. Now that I think about it, I did the challenge wrong. The theme was something you are thankful for using buttons, ribbon/trim, and exposed cardboard. Why did I think it said cardstock. I think the accident shook up my brain a little to much. Oh well it is done and uploaded to the gallery and there is nothing I can do now. Next time I will read the challenge several times before I create the LO. The sad thing about it is The LO at the top is the first LO I did for the challenge and realize the theme was thankful. Silly me.

My Grandfather Died Yesterday....

My grandfather (dad's father who lived in Jamaica) died yesterday after a 2 week battle with an infectious decease called leptospirous. Caught early this decease is curable but on his first visit to the Doctor 2 weeks ago he was told he had the flu and was sent home. After a week of antibiotics and with his symptoms getting worse he was taken to another doctor where he was diagnosed with leptospirous and rushed to the hospital. By the time he got to the hospital he was already in stage two and the decease had already shut down his liver and attach other organs. He lost his fight yesterday after a week in the hospital. It all happened so fast so I don't think it has really set in. They have already released the body to our family and I am awaiting the funeral date from my dad. I ask for your prayers for my family during this time.
Update on my accident - a lot of the pain has passed. Just some pain between my shoulder blades and in my lower back. I think I will have to visit the Chiropractor (sp?).
Here are some of my favorite Halloween Pics of the kids. Here is Dorthy from the Wizard of OZ sorting through here candy. She ended up being Dorthy because the school said the smaller kids could only wear costumes that related to the farm or harvest. Dorthy lived on a farm. It's the best I could do.
Here is my air force pilot. They didn't have the camouflage army costume so he picked the pilots. Do you see a pattern here. Camouflage room, bed and clothes. Future military man? I hope not.

Halloween Pics...

OK well it looks like my pics are to big to be posted. Here are the gifts I made for the kids teachers. I will have to resize the others and post later. In the news - I was in a car accident on Monday after leaving work. My cute little Scion XB was rare-ended by a Dorango which pushed me into an Accord. My car is now in the shop. Still waiting for an estimate on the damage. I have no broken bones just a lot of pain. Muscle Relaxers are my friends right now. I hope to be back in action soon. I have not scrapped since Sunday and boy am I feeling it. Well later.

What weekend ......

Been feeling run down this weekend. I think I better pop some vitamins. Spent most of my Saturday in the hair salon and then Tasha and I spent the rest of the day at the new IKEA store. I must say I am in love. You have to pack a lunch to go there but it is everything I thought it would be and now that I know the ins and outs it will be a lot easier the next time we go. We did Sushi after that and I called it a night. Sunday was spent doing work, helping with homework, grocery shopping and even managed to stop by a stamping store close by to get some cardstock. It was a long day and I was very happy to finally see the kids sleeping. Look how peaceful they look. Every night I going into there room to make sure they are fixed comfortably and kiss them on the head. Thought I would take a picture of what I see each night.
This is why I love my husband. We ate well. Our Sunday dinner was stuffed shells and veggie and beef casserole. I am still stuffed.
