My New Camera is on it's Way.....

I am so excited. I ordered my new camera today. Yes finally after months of lusting over the Canon Rebel XTi I am getting one. I should have it by the end of the week. I opted for the Sigma 28-70mm lens. I feel so sorry for Ezzy and the kids. I think they might just get tired of me taking pictures once I get this camera. Hopefully I can book enough photo shoots that will cover the cost of the camera.

Take Your Child to Work Day...

OK Thursday was take your child to work day. So Nayshawn came to work with me. I didn't think he would enjoy it because of course I am an accountant. What could possibly be exciting about watching an accountant. Sometime I even get bored. But in actuality he had a great time. Everyone was just so in love with him. For the first part of the day he watched his shows on his Video Ipod. We had Burger King for lunch. Which was a plus for him. And after lunch he spent most of the time in a co-worker's office. I have pic that I will share later. Today it is Dance class for the kids. I can't wait until June when this will all be done. I will be happy to sleep in on Saturdays. I also have a couple of errands to run. Then my cousin is headed to prom. Not her prom, she is just helping out. But she wants me to come take some pictures of her before she goes. Then one of my best friends Tasha is turning 30 next week and she is having a fancy B-day party tonight so Ezzy and I will be headed to that while my Mom stays with the kids.

Spent Today with my Girl....

Well, while Ezzy and Nayshawn went to get a hair cut today, Niah and I went shopping. We didn't buy much but we had a good time. First we went to Michael's because I was in the middle of a Layout and ran out of glue dots. So we got some. They we headed to Barnes and Nobles where we read a couple of books. She got to hear about Barbie and Cinderella and I got to read a couple of photography mags.
Then we walked over to Pier 1 Kids. Niah picked out the bed she wants. We will have to see about that. I told her that she will have to keep her room clean first before I redo it. She does have good taste though. I love the bed she picked. Then finally we found a store called Justice. Oh My Gosh!!! I loved it just as much as she did. Everything was just too cute. She is still a little small for the clothes that they sell there but I am sure we will be visiting there again soon.
I finished up this Layout for the Circle challenge at TallyScrapper. This is my first Circle LO. This is a picture of the bouquet of flowers Ezzy gave me for Valentines Day this year. I just love fresh flowers.(http://www.tallyscrapper.com/scrapbook_gallery_challenge.php?challenge_id=26

Thought on Virgina Tech shooting....

I am saddened by the recent shootings on the Virgina Tech. Campus yesterday. When I heard what happened I cried. I cried for the kids who have not yet ventured out into the world and experienced life. I cried for the families that will never see there loved ones alive again. And I cried at the thought of my kids having to be apart of a world where such acts of violence can happen at any time. I know that other tragic events have happened that I should feel equally sad about but I think because I have kids that will eventually grow up and go off to college this event disturbs me even more. It frightens me that I can not always be there to protect them from the evil and sadness in the world. I can only hold them close and tell them I love them and pray that we never have to go through what these families are going through now.

My weekend....

Well I cut my hair this week. I think I like it.
Got to fold these clothes. Laundry is a little backed up.
Look at Niah's room. Can't understand why she can't keep it clean.
Nay stayed with my Mom for a few hours yesterday and they stopped at WalMart and bought this little radio for a dollar. It is just too cute and it work great.
I am Watching Ricky Bobby, Taledega Nights.

Here is the picture of Niah and my mom that I promised. I love it. Ezzy says it looks like they are floating. I guess in a way it does. It is just luck that they happen to be wearing the same color. This fighting with Nayshawn and Niah is really driving me crazy. I just had to calm Nayshawn down. He is upset for something. Still not sure after about 10 minutes of talking to him. I assume Niah did something that he did like. She is not giving up any info on the subject. So I just have to let me lay in my bed away from her and just calm down. Let's hope it works.

ME

I really have not done to many layouts about me. So I decided that I would do a layout about me whether good or bad. This is me. I know if my family sees this they would say, "Yes Shawna you hit the nail on the head with this one."
On another note. I am thinking about going to CHA in Chicago in June. If I do go I would be able to meet some wonderful Scrapping buddies that I have met since I have been scrapping. But before I can even think about that I have to confirm what I am doing with Nay and Niah for the summer. My grandmother wants me to send them to Jamaica to stay with her for a part of the summer. This will be the first time I will be apart from them for that long period of time. I am a little nervous about that but I know they will be fine. My Grandmother has already hired someone to come in and help her with them while they are there.
Also got to determine when we will do our family vacation. This year it will be Atlanta seaquarium and Sea Worldin Orlando. Think the kids will get tired of all the marine life? I think we will try to fit in a trip to the water park in Orlando as well. Well that is all that is on my mine right now.

This is my mom. She was such a great sport. She let me practice my photography on her yesturday. I think she looks great. This is my favorite picture from the shoot. I have another one of her and Niah that I will share a little later. It was good to get away yesturday, even if it was for a couple of hours. We went to visit my uncle and the kids where able to get in the pool. It was very relaxing and I was able to spend some quality time with my mom. Love it. Now it is time to clean the house and get some scrapping done.

Siblings...

It is amazing how I can capture such beautiful moments of Nayshawn and Niah and then have to go through days like today when all they do is fuss and fight. I am at my mind's end right now with these two. All day they have been arguing about something or the other. I really don't know how my mother did it. Because I know I use to go at it with my sister and even with my brothers but that was when I was older. So to calm my soul I decided to edit this picture I took of them the other day. On another note. I miss Ezzy. Since he opened his lab, he has been working so hard. I miss just sitting around and bugging out with him. I know the first couple of months is the hardest but I still miss him. I stopped by the lab on my way home today and when I left I stopped off at Scrapbook Central. I love that store. They have everything. I am on the list for when the Love Elsie comes in. I got some of the new K& Company, Fancy Pants and Pizzazzill. Also got the Just For Looks book by Heidi Swapp. So with that said, I have some scrapping to do.

Practice Photo Shoot

I am not sure if I mentions this before but my brother Kevin has opened a modeling agency and I am the stylist/photographer and so I took the kids out to practice. I think I did pretty good. This are some of my favorites. Unedited of course. I will post edited version soon. Any criticism is welcome.

Went to the County Fair.....

Yesturday we went to the Dade County Youth Fair. This is something I have been doing since I was a kids and I am so happy to be able to share this with my kids. We all had a wounderful time. We ate lots of good food, the kids rode a ton of rides and we were even able to look at some of the local student work that was displayed. I brought home some cotton candy for today and it is almost all gone. I just love that stuff. We all look forward to doing it again next year. Well it is off to do house work and run some errand.
